The days after rain in the desert are beautiful. It is like the dust has all been cleared and a clean room is shining at us, the sky is blue- bluer than it usually is as there is no dusty haze and it seems like the plants have had a good wash. It is great. Three days after rains, the weather continues to be good and Spring seems to be extending its stay in these parts. A few pictures from my spring garden.
Its a messy garden right now but the good weather is making me work a little towards getting it better looking. And at least the leaves are all green- clean green.
So nice to see everything in bloom. We are still waiting on things to blossom in these parts. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

I like the looks of your garden. We had a lot of rain in Arkansas which cleaned the air of pollen and made everything look so fresh and new. I do some of my herbs in pots and I enjoy watching everything grow. Still waiting for the mud to leave to plant the large garden.

Yes, the rain is terrible – five inches yesterday. We both could use some of this rain in July. We lucked out on storms – no tornadoes. Did have a lot of flooding. Hope things fared well in your area. Hello neighbor.

I was going to say the vinca, I didn’t know it was also called dead man’s rose. Now I learned something today! The roses I grow, some of them look like yours. The daisies, I think they are Gerbera daisies. I was lucky enough to get a few of my seeds from previous years to sprout. I don’t know the names of the other flowers, but sure wish I could grow them here. They are beautiful.

Thank you. The nursery man also called them Jerbara or something- Now I learnt the correct name of those flowers.
In our part of the world, it is said that the Vinca flowers grow best in graveyards and cemeteries and also have a distinctive odour which reminds one of death, perhaps? And hence the name.

Hi Susie – Your garden is beautiful – the roses are blooming profusely already and the other Vinca blossoms look so dainty. It is nice seeing such beautiful colors already. The grass is green here and a few trees look a little green, but that is it for blooms. The crocuses are not tall plants in the least. The first picture is Gerbera Daisies. I never had luck growing them as they need a lot of water. I always hand-watered everything before I went to work and when I got home at night the heads of the Gerbera Daisies would be bending over and touching the earth. A quick pick-me-up with a can of water and they would perk up again!

We are starting to see a little green here in Maine but we still have a little snow patch here and there that needs melting. Wonderful to see flowers blooming!
