These days it seems as if there is no day without its share of troubles or tribulation. When I was younger, I feel there were more days when I used to smile and be happy. Now it looks like the burden of troubles grows by the day.
A thought for today:
” to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour and the day of our God’s vengeance, to comfort all who mourn,
” to provide for those who grieve in Zion- to give them a crown of beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, and a garment of praise in place of a spirit of despair.”
Isaiah 61-2-3
Beautiful passage from Isaiah, Susie. Just what I needed to read this morning! Thank you.

You probably have lots more responsibility now than you did when you were younger.

So true and so many more attachments too. It seems I am emotionally blackmailing myself.

Life is so tough – I would love to go back to my youth and remember my parents saying to me when I was complaining about school while studying for a test, or doing homework as a young girl … “just wait until you are out in the real world and then you will see just how tough things are!” They were prophetic is seems.

It seems as if the ” good old days’ were really the good old days- not there any more. Sigh

I agree with you Susie and on so many levels. Still waiting on the computer guy to show up and in the interim looking at a video on Windows 10 and I sure do not need all those bells and whistles … not happy with Microsoft for phasing out Windows 7 next January. Sometimes I would like to return to a quill pen but then we would never have met.

I’m so glad you are turning to the Scriptures for comfort, Susie!! Try singing some praise songs too!

I love thinking of wearing a ‘garment of praise,’ instead of ‘spirit of despair.’ Great truth Susie! Thank you so much for sharing it.

I realised that Isaiah has some great truths and promises, Kathy. And some great life lessons. Growing up, I used to think Isaiah was a scary book because it seemed to predict doom.
